Blood Red Skies
Blood Red Skies World War II games have never been my thing, mostly the events of WWII had happened too recently for my liking. After living in a part of the country that frequently has Spitfires flying over I succumbed and decided to give Blood Red Skies by Warlord Games a try. I ordered Spitfire and Messerschmitt squadrons and the latest updated ruleset called Air Strike. A flip through the book showed an easy to read book, the basic rules are easy to pick up and after a quick read through the summary chart is all that is needed to play. I tried the rules out (playing it solo) and found the rules fun to play and fluid. The game really gives the feel of areial combat and all the dodging and diving that happens in a dog fight. The best part is the buy in for the game is fairly cheap and not much is required to get started, it cost me just under £60 to get everything I needed.
